Clàudia i Maria s'han enamorat. Viuen a la ciutat de Guatemala, una ciutat plena d'històries relacionades amb abusos, policies implacables i racons secrets encantadors. Tot canvia una nit quan són atacades per tres homes. Aconsegueixen escapar, però ara han de triar si volen venjar-se.


Sinòpsis

Claudia i Maria (22) deambulen en moto pels carrers de la Ciutat de Guatemala. És un lloc de caos, corrupció i soroll, però també de racons i personatges entranyables. La Claudia viu temporalment amb el seu avi, un exguerriller. La Maria viu en un barri deprimit de la perifèria amb la seva mare. Una nit fatídica ho canvia tot per a elles. La Claudia haurà de decidir si acompanya la Maria en els seus plans de venjança o si, per contra, troba una sortida pacífica seguint els consells del seu avi.

Camila Urrutia

Camila was born in Guatemala City in 1979. When she turned two her family took exile in Mexico. She lived in Mexico for eight years before returning home. She obtained her B.F.A in Film from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. In 2005 she received a scholarship to study a masters in Film Studies at the Sorbonne, Paris. She finally established herself in Guatemala, working in film production. She directed short documentaries about women in the social movement and empowered rape survivors in conflict. (Actoras de Cambio, We are all Barrilas and Women healing life). She also directed three fiction shorts about the misadventures of young women in the city. Cine de Lux, The little Notebook, and More Poetry and Less Policing. All of the protagonists were queer women in conflict.

Simultaneously, wanting to know more about acting, she got involved in theatre as an actress. She is now part of “Siluetas” a feminist theatre collective. Since 2011 they create political plays written and directed by all members. They are the authors of Out and Dissidents are their latest plays. They have toured in Mexico, Central America and Colombia.

Pólvora en el Corazón (Gunpowder Heart) is her first feature film and has received the support of labs and coproduction meetings in Guadalajara Film Festival, Cinergia, Ibermedia, Festival de Cine Mar del Plata.
